Day Notes
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our Roaming Duniya representative who will brief you on the safari. From here, drive to Sweetwaters Wildlife Sanctuary, a sumptuous ranch that was once the private domain of multi-millionaire Adnan Kashoggi. We will visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary for orphaned chimpanzees, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhinos, home to stunning specimens. Sweetwaters boasts excellent game viewing, with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya. The camp has its own private waterhole and salt lick, ensuring close encounters with the wildlife. Whether it’s day or night game drives, camel trekking, lion tracking, al fresco dining, or relaxing by the pool, Sweetwaters is bound to delight as part of your Roaming Duniya safari adventure.

A sheltered oasis, clustered around a waterhole, set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Sweetwaters Tented Camp combines under-canvas ambiance with safari luxury. The view of a snow-capped Mount Kenya with an elephant in the foreground is one of Africa’s most iconic sights. Africa’s second-highest mountain (5199m), Mount Kenya offers awe-inspiring views, with forests, trout-filled streams, and game reserves that are perfect for those who may not wish to summit the peak. Unlike Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya is technically difficult to climb, though Point Lenana (4985m), which requires no climbing, can be easily reached by a fit hiker.

After breakfast at the lodge, drive to the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, which offers magnificent views of the majestic mountain. The Safari Club’s 115 luxuriously appointed guest rooms are set on over 100 acres of landscaped gardens, providing a unique blend of comfort, relaxation, and adventure. Originally the retreat of movie star and Club founder William Holden, the club’s illustrious former members have included Winston Churchill and Bing Crosby.

Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park was created to protect the lake and its flocks of Lesser Flamingos, drawn to the algae that flourishes in the saline waters of the soda lake. The national park is home to hippos, black and white rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, and elands.

Day Notes
After breakfast, proceed to Lake Nakuru Park, regarded by avid birders as one of the greatest ornithological spectacles in the world. Upon arrival, lunch will be served at the lodge. The park is a sanctuary for the black rhino, white rhino, and Rothschild giraffe. Birdlife here includes species like the African Fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White Pelicans, and Pink Backed Pelicans, along with other intra-African migrants.

Nestled along Lion Hill, overlooking the flamingo-pink rimmed Lake Nakuru, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge offers stunning panoramic views of the lake and Lake Nakuru National Park. Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Masai Mara National Game Reserve (approximately 6-7 hours – flying is recommended for 5* accommodation). The reserve offers breathtaking scenery and an abundance of game, with some of the most remarkable wildlife sightings in Africa. It is one of the few regions in Kenya where visitors can experience animals in the same super-abundance that existed a century ago. Lunch at Keekorok Lodge, then proceed to Mara Serena Lodge with a game drive en route.
